/ Jack Ridl Visiting Writers Series

Student Opportunities

If you’re a current Hope student looking to get involved, you’ve come to the right place.

There are many ways to volunteer for JRVWS, depending on your interests. Main tasks include:

  • Distributing posters and fliers
  • Selling books at readings
  • Ushering at the events
  • Writing introductions
  • Conducting Q&As
  • Running radio shows
  • Escorting writers
  • Enjoying lunches, dinners and receptions with visiting writers, your writing professors and other local writers

JRVWS volunteers are not a club, and volunteering is not required. The level of engagement is mostly up to you, but former volunteers say that the more you get involved, the more you enjoy the experience.

Although many of our volunteers are English and creative writing majors at »»ÆÞÉçÇø, we welcome anyone. We also have one or two internship positions each year, so volunteering is a perfect way to determine if applying for an internship with the JRVWS is right for you.

If you’re interested, please contact the director of the JRVWS, Pablo Peschiera.

Thanks for getting involved!
