will honor 10 young alumni with its annual “10 Under 10 Awards” on Friday, Oct. 13, during the college’s “One Big Weekend (Homecoming + Family Weekend)” celebration.
They will be honored during a reception on Friday, Oct. 13, from 7 p.m. to 9 during an Under 10 Soirée at Piek Events on the fifth floor of the Tulyp Hotel. They will also participate in a panel discussion earlier in the day on Friday, Oct. 13, at 3 p.m. in Winants Auditorium of Graves Hall, during which they will share perspective based on their educational and professional journeys.
Admission is free to both events, although advance registration is required for the evening reception. Registration is available through hope.edu/onebigweekend

The : Megan Altieri ’13, artist, author and founder of Sonder Articles; Emily Armbruster ’13, senior scientist at NanoImaging Services; Meredith Busman ’14, emergency medicine physician and sub-elite marathoner; Parker Bussies ’14, obstetrics and gynecology resident physician and molecular biology Ph.D. candidate at Cleveland Clinic; Lauren Ezzo ’14, voice actor and audiobook narrator; Gavin Midlam ’16, designer, entrepreneur and founder of The House of Leon; Alec Norkey ’13, ethnomusicology researcher and violinist; Sarah Jane Peterson ’15, research psychology postdoctoral research fellow at University of Michigan; Karly Ferguson ’15 Raklovits, therapist at Bronson Sexual Assault Services; and Regina Sanchez-Gonzalez ’15, recruiting lead at Block (FKA Square).
The “10 Under 10 Awards” honor emerging leaders who are making significant contributions by living out their callings; engaged in the local and global community through professional and/or volunteer involvement; and use their education to think about important issues with wisdom and clarity, communicate effectively to bridge boundaries that divide human communities and act as agents of hope living faithfully into their vocations. Designed for alumni who are within 10 years of graduation, they are presented by the Alumni Association.
The annual awards which debuted in the fall of 2018, succeeded the Alumni Association’s Young Alumni Award program that ran from 2007 through 2017. Recipients are chosen by a committee of Alumni Board members, faculty and staff from among nominations made by members of the extended Hope community.
