Tutoring
When group study sessions just aren’t enough, work with one of our trained peer tutors. Small group peer tutoring is available on either a long-term or short-term basis in most 100- and 200-level courses.
The Academic Success Center (ASC) provides free tutoring for small groups of students working with a peer tutor for the courses listed below. Tutoring is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
were accepted from September 4–November 18. Applications for spring 2025 tutoring will open on Wednesday, January 15.
Tutors will provide students with a minimum of one hour of assistance weekly. Additionally, up to three hours per week are permitted if the tutor is able to accommodate these in their schedule.
Each year, more than 800 tutoring matches are made through the ASC peer tutoring service. Before seeking tutoring, we recommend that you talk with the professor of the course involved. When used appropriately, tutoring can make a significant difference in a student's overall course performance; however, it is not a replacement or substitute for communication with the professor.
Sample of courses typically tutored
The ASC typically only tutors 100- and 200-level courses on a first come, first served basis. If your course is not listed, please consult your professor, lab instructor or academic department for additional assistance. You may also complete a tutoring application and we will determine if a tutor can be recruited. Academic coaching and learning strategies assistance is also available through the ASC at no charge.
